World Championship Teams Congratulations to our World Championship Teams, who competed in the World Championship April 19-22, 2017, in Houston, TX. Marlbots, team 3626, won first place for the Motivate Award, sparking others to embrace the culture of FIRST. The Suit Bots, team 4628, were a finalist for the Connect Award, which connects the dots between community, FIRST, and the diversity of the engineering world. Seven of our regional teams went to Houston to represent the region:
- Team 25 – Rock N Roll Robots, Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles, Pasadena, CA — Advanced from West as Inspire 3rd Place, West Super-Regional
- Team 3526 – Marlbots, Marlborough School, Los Angeles, CA — Advanced to West; Advanced to Worlds by Lottery (new this season)
- Team 4153 – Droidnauts, Monrovia HS, Monrovia, CA — Advanced to Regionals; Advanced to Worlds by Lottery (new this season)
- Team 4628 – Suit Bots, Monrovia HS, Monrovia, CA — Advanced from West from Olympic Division
- Team 8496 – Heat It Up and Keep It Cool, Community Team, Newhall, CA — Advanced from West as Inspire Winner (!!!!)
- Team 10298 – Brain Stormz, Community Team, Camarillo, CA – Advanced from West from Cascade Division
- Team 10598 – Fusionyx, Community Team, Walnut, CA – Advanced from West from Cascade Division
