FIRST Tech Challenge event teams score two kinds of points: RP (Ranking Points): 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie and 0 points for a loss TP (Tiebreak points): The pre-penalty score of the losing alliance in each match. Both winning and losing alliances earn the same TP from a match while RP differs. RP determines which four will, after qualifying matches, be captains in alliance selection. When there is a tie in RP, TP is used as a tiebreaker. Each team in the Los Angeles region may play up to 15 league matches. Of those, your top ten scores — RP first and then TP — will carry over to your team’s ILT. Whatever RP and TP your team then earns at the ILT will be added to your league top ten.
